Living Room Design
I know exactly how I want the Living Room in our new home to look. I want it to go from this...
For now, though, I have to keep it pretty simple. I'm going to do most of the work for this by myself...but it will still take time. I want to make the built-ins, get an electric fireplace, and knock out two little windows on the outside wall but know that this project won't be even started until next year sometime because of other pressing projects that need our attention now. So, I'm trying to get the idea of what I want for our living room now and I've come up with this...
(Don't mind my cheesy photoshop collage) Bright, Colorful and happy!!! But also realistic for our budget and time right now. I've already replaced the blinds and started adding molding along the bay windows. The chocolate brown paint has also been painted on the wall with the windows and front door. (I haven't taken pics of that yet). I'm in the process of making some art...I'm trying to combine spiritual quotes with whimsical, colorful paintings as I paint. Pillows are also in the work. I got a a couple of different fabrics in my accent colors from IKEA a little while ago just waiting for me to bust out the sewing machine. The curtains and "sleeves" for the couch cushions will be made from the fabric above. (If you picture a candy bar wrapped up...the sleeve is basically fabric wrapped around the middle part of each cushion for added color...and in the case of a white couch it is added protection from stains). I love being able to create!! To make my house beautiful and be a HOME to my family. I want it to be a place of refuge and relaxation where my kids and husband WANT to come home to. Most importantly, I want it to feel like a Temple on Earth. Hopefully I can get more of these projects done soon and share more photos!
